Looking back I can't believe it's been since July that I have written on my blog. I really need to try to do better don't I. Let me try to recap what has happened since then.
My son started 8th grade. He has had a hard time with his school work this year. I forgot how hard it can be to have 7 classes. He was put in a dance class which he loved. He did a Christmas dance concert. I loved it. I even helped out as a chaperon during the performance they did for the school. I really don't like Junior High kids. They don't listen to you at all. I really respect the teachers that are able to handle the kids. He also was in football again this year. My husband was his coach again too. I lived and breathed football from the end of July to the middle of November. They won 2 games but were close on all but one game. Now it's starting baseball season. He wants to try out for the 8th grade team that plays for the high school. I hope he makes it. He is such a great baseball player.
My daughter started 5th grade. She has grown up way too fast this year. I won't go into details since she would kill me, but needless to say she has turned into a little woman and I'm not ready for hit. Her best friend moved during Thanksgiving break, which she has had a hard time with it. I'm hoping she will decide to start hanging out with her other friends before she drives me crazy.
My hubby and I have both been busy working and helping kids with their school work. In September, hubby's step-grandfather passed away from a heart attack. He was very sick and dieing, but it was still quite a shock He was in his late 70's. He was such a fun loving, full of life man and will be dearly missed.
In October my brother Glen was killed in a car crash in Florida. He was driving with a friend and her 5 year old son. My brother was dead at the scene, and his friend and her son were both in the hospital in critical condition. I found out the boy died 2 weeks later. I was absolutely devastated. We had become best friends in the last 2 years. We would talk a couple times a week while driving home from work. I was soo grateful he was able to come out to the reunion in July. My family is pretty big so we all couldn't make it to his funeral in Florida, so we did a memorial here in Utah. It was nice to see all my brothers and sister. My one sister couldn't make it she caught pneumonia. It would have been better if she could have made it. I'm still trying to come to grips with losing him, but it's getting a little bit better.
So far 2010 has been pretty great. Nothing bad has happened, knock on wood. Too many deaths from family and family's family last year. I'm claiming this year to be "death free". Lets hope it stays that way.
Well, that's all for now. I'm going to try to keep up on this but don't hold your breath.
